Event Information:
- Event Date: 10-07-2017 8:00 am
- Individual Price: $25.00
- Location: Mount Arlington Municipal Building
Event held in memory of Officer Joseph Wargo and all proceeds go towards a different community cause each year.
Wargo, 38, was described by friends and fellow officers as jovial, a bear of a man with a quick smile and an easy demeanor. "Joe was a fun-loving guy with a heart of gold," said Keith Licata, Mount Arlington’s acting police chief. "He would help anybody, and he was a very dedicated police officer."
He served on the force for more than a decade, making dozens of friends in the small town in western Morris County.
The kind of guy who would talk to everyone — inquiring about wives and children. The kind of officer who was genuinely interested in his community — slowing his patrol car to ask neighborhood kids how school was going. The kind of man who would sooner give you a hug than shake your hand.
