The Jefferson Arts Committee’s free summer gazebo concerts continue throughout the end of August on Friday evenings at the beautiful Victorian gazebo in the municipal complex (1033 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge). All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and are two hours long, usually with a short intermission.
On Friday, July 23, Carnaby Street will be performing at the Gazebo and taking their listeners on a musical experience of the 1960’s. Chris Roselle on guitar, Pete Bremy on bass guitar, and Dino DiMartino on drums will all sing vocals featuring music from the British Invasion along with various American artists.
Carnaby St. breathes new life into the songs that are fondly remembered as cornerstones for popular music's favorite era. From The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Moody Blues, The Who, The Dave Clark Five, The Bee Gees, and The Hollies to Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, The Monkees, The Byrds, and the one-hit-wonders of the time. Carnaby St. has performed with well recognized acts like Rod Stewart, The Temptations, the Grass Roots, Gary Puckett, The Moody Blues, and The Monkees.
Performing throughout the tri-state area, Carnaby St. can often be found playing at the Warwick Valley Winery and the Hopewell Valley Winery. Find out more at https://carnabystreetband.wixsite.com/carnaby-street
Attendees are asked to bring a blanket or chair for their comfort. Non-alcoholic beverages, picnic dinners, and snacks are permitted on the grounds. All trash must be taken home upon departure. Social distancing is encouraged.
In the event or threat of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Jefferson Township High School auditorium at 1010 Weldon Road (.1 mile away). The Board of Education recommends that unvaccinated attendees wear a face mask. For updates, visit Jefferson Arts Committee on Facebook or , or call 201-230-8879 or 973-697-3828.
Wind down for the weekend by enjoying The Carnaby St. concert, where dancing and singing along are encouraged. There is no charge, although free-will donations are gratefully accepted – especially this year. All Jefferson Arts Committee fundraisers were canceled last year due to the pandemic and regular activities will probably not be reinstated until next year.
