In an event you don’t want to miss, St. Jude’s Church in Hopatcong will be hosting a full Corned Beef Dinner and a 50/50 Raffle to help raise funds to replace the ancient boilers within the church.

Hopatcong teachers recently completed training in Defined STEM, which is an online platform that enables teachers to provide the application of knowledge to students through the use of project-based learning (PBL), real world careers and meaningful reading and writing activi- ties. Throughout the district, teachers have begun to utilize this new learning tool in their classrooms.

The Hopatcong Ambulance Squad is made up of about 30 first responders, EMTs and drivers most of whom are volunteers from our community.

On December 21, 2016 the Council met during their regular session to discuss the names of the three nominees, Bradley Hoferkamp, Ryan Smith and Justin Lijo to replace now Mayor Michael Francis.

On Friday, December 9^th, Kim Norman visited Hudson Maxim School to perform for the eager young readers and writers.  Ms. Diana Fratangelo and Mrs. Dana DeMetro planned for Kim’s visit by raising enthusiasm, readying the library in a holiday theme for the Author Visit Luncheon, and coordinating book sales of Kim’s books throughout the Hudson Maxim Community. 

Hopatcong students Amanda Corujo (Flute, Junior), Jennifer Coulman (Trumpet, Sophomore), Teresa Turnage (Trombone, Freshman) and Anthony Christiana (Junior, Trombone) auditioned for the North Jersey Area Band on December 10 at Wayne Hills High School. 

As first reported by the Daily Record. The Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing charges filed by Hopatcong police against a man who showed up at the police station in a bunny costume blasting an air horn, and his brother who filmed an ensuing altercation with an officer.
