After learning about elections and voting, the children learned about the two candidates-duck and deer. The deer won the election, and we are now known as the Durban Deer! For this year’s Election Day, First Grade teacher, Ms. Doreen Sciabica, thought it would be fun to give our mascot a name!

After learning about elections and voting again, the students cast their votes and the winner is...Dasher!!! Dasher spends most of his time gracing the show case filled with books, information, and voting signs from last year’s election, but he has also been known to show up in classrooms and have his photo taken for a Where is Dasher?
Editors Note: At the time of this publication Donner and Dancer were not available for comment. Who is Dasher the reindeer?
Dasher is a character in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie. He is the brother of Blitzen, Comet, and Cupid, the brother-in-law of Mitzi, the uncle of Rudolph and Arrow, and one of Santa's Flyers.
