Today the Borough of Hopatcong recognizes Aaron Mood for completing his Eagle Scout award in the repairs and fencing in Squire Park. During the process he created GoFundMe site to establish funds to replace, refurbish, and repaint the wooden fence at Squire field. The remainder of the money was donated to a local town organizations.
WHEREAS, Aaron has been accepted and received a full scholarship to attend Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Honors College; and
WHEREAS, in 2014 Aaron earned his Arrow of Light Award as a Cub Scout. He also will be receiving his Eagle Scout Award on April 21, 2021. His chosen project was Squire Field. He replaced the broken boards on the wooden fence and repainted the rest. He then leveled out the space where the portable bathroom goes. This project took about 3 weekends and a total of 106.75 volunteer hours to complete; and
WHEREAS, Aaron has displayed excellent leadership skills throughout the design and execution of his project. He truly emulates what an Eagle Scout represents and he takes pride in knowing his project will serve his community for years to come; and
WHEREAS, Aaron has a bright future ahead of him. His actions as a young man, helping his community, proves he will be a creative and productive adult.
