Project Self-Sufficiency launches new program to Raise Awareness of Childhood Trauma Impact

Newton, NJ (July 23, 2021) – Project Self-Sufficiency has launched PACEs, a new initiative dedicated to raising awareness of the impact of childhood trauma with the goal of preventing adverse childhood experiences.  The agency is inviting professionals, educators, parents, healthcare providers and caregivers to attend a kick-off luncheon event, Thursday, July 29th, at noon, featuring New Jersey Office of Resilience Executive Director David Ellis and child and family therapist Kris Imbrie.

Jefferson Museum Open House August 1, 2021

JEFFERSON  The Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House, will have an open house on Sunday, August 1, 2021, from 1 to 4 pm.

Admission is free. Costumed docents will be available to talk about this Victorian home.  The featured exhibit will be “Victorian Dress from Head to Toe.” This exhibit is being presented by the Society’s costume department. Vintage pieces from the Museum and private collections, along with reproductions of the late Victorian period (1870-1900) and up to 1920, will be displayed throughout the building.

Lake Hopatcong – Public Safety Officials Presentation for Safety on the Lake

Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, State Police, Morris County Sherriff's Office, and police and fire departments from each of the four towns surrounding the lake (Hopatcong, Jefferson, Mt. Knee Deep Club 2021 Lake Hopatcong Catfish Contest

The Knee Deep Club will hold its annual Lake Hopatcong Catfish Contest the weekend of August 7 and 8, 2021.The contest will begin at 6:00 PM on Saturday August 15, 2020 and conclude at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, August 8, 2021. The entry fee for club members is $20.00 and non-members $25.00 ($20.00 entry + $5.00 non-member fee). No one will be allowed to entry after 7:00 PM on Saturday August 7, 2021.
