Mount Arlington knows how to throw a party, and this year’s Halloween Bash was no exception in the long line of great events that they hold annually.
While rained out last Saturday, the movement back a week certainly didn’t hurt attendance, and the fact that it was closer to Halloween, may have been a good thing, as everyone was in high spirits.
The Kids and many of the Parents dressed up for the event in elaborate costumes, as they went through the trunk-or-treat portion of the event starting at 4:00 PM. The costumes showed the high level of effort that the residents of Mount Arlington put into their events, which only helps to make these events so much fun.
These costumes were so realistic that our Hopatcong Lake Regional News photographer covering the event had to at one point dodge both a spell from Hogwarts Witch while contending with a Land-Shark. It is our current understanding that he remains in stable condition and is expected to recover.

And while we are talking about effort, take a look at some of the decorated trunks. These imaginative designs took hours and hours of preparation, showing once again how this community takes their events very seriously. As we spoke to several of the Trunk owners, this was not their first time at the event, with many start the planning process at least three months ahead of time.
After the Truck or Treat portion of the event, attendees were further treated to a Mad Science Show and two different movies.
Several of Mount Arlington First Responders were also present, to hand out treats and to arrest any ghost or goblin that got out of hand, with the Fire Department handling the fires started by light saber fights from the Star Wars crew.
Once again... Great Job Mount Arlington Recreation team and the overall community!
