Construction for the realignment of Howard Boulevard in Mount Arlington from Oneida Avenue south approximately one half mile is set to begin on Wednesday, July 27, 2016.
Tomco Construction Inc. will be the contractor. Construction is anticipated to take approximately three months to complete. Single lane closure, with flagmen providing alternating traffic control is anticipated during the week ending July 30, 2016.
The project includes the reconstruction and realignment of Howard Boulevard from the Oneida Avenue through the sharp curve immediately to the south of the intersection. The curve will be realigned for a smoother transition and a left turn lane to Oneida Avenue provided. Howard Boulevard will be milled and repaved for another 1,000 feet beyond the curve. Granite curb and sidewalk will also be installed along the west side of the road from the intersection south to the Elk’s Lodge driveway.
Through construction the Borough will be providing weekly updates on the project via the Borough website and through email. Beyond normal construction progress, the updates will specifically address the traffic control measures anticipated for the following week.
