The Township of Roxbury would like to make all motorists that travel Route 10 in the Succasunna area aware of the road closure scheduled for the weekend of October 22nd beginning Friday night.
The railroad crossing in the vicinity of Eyland Ave will be replaced requiring the closure of both east and west bound traffic from Friday evening through Sunday night. Please be advised that detour routes will be established to guide vehicles around this closure.
Vehicles traveling westbound through Roxbury wishing to avoid any congestion should plan to turn right on Canfield Ave and then left on Rt 46 west in Mine Hill. This route will join Rt 10 & 46 in Ledgewood.
Vehicles traveling westbound into the shopping areas of Succasunna will be detoured on to Main St. and back onto Rt 10.
The westbound detour will take effect beginning at 8pm Friday Oct 21st as soon as the commuter traffic has eased.
Vehicles traveling eastbound will encounter the detour at Rt 10 & Eyland Ave where traffic will turn right and proceed to the next traffic light where they will turn left on Righter Rd. At the end of Righter Rd traffic will turn left on Park Avenue, follow to the end and turn right on Sussex Tpk and then left on Canfield Ave where the detour will end at Rt 10.
Another alternative route for those vehicles traveling eastbound wishing to avoid the detour area is to turn left on Rt 46 at the intersection of Rt 10. Follow Rt 46 for (5) traffic lights and turn right on Canfield Ave which intersects Rt 10 at the next traffic light.
Access to businesses within the closed portion of Rt 10 eastbound will be made by crossing median from the westbound lane or Rt 10 as well as Main St. at the road closure.
For those of you who have subscribed to Morris County’s notification system a written notice and a detour map has been sent to your email address.
This information will also be available on the Roxbury Township Website at www.roxburynj.us and through social media. We appreciate for your cooperation and patience. Thank you
