ROXBURY, NJ (May 6, 2020) – Congratulations to ten sixth-graders at Lincoln/Roosevelt School for being nominated to participate in the 2020 NJSMA Region I Elementary Honors Band.

Logan Batsch (trumpet), Rachel Bishop (clarinet), Brooke Franetovich (trumpet), Alex Fullam (trombone), Michael Gutierrez (saxophone), Theresa Rosas (French horn), Sophie Sanders (flute), Mia Scalamoni (clarinet), Caden Scire (trumpet), and Nina Watson (trombone) were nominated based on exemplary performance and efforts on their instruments both in and outside the classroom. Final selections to the ensemble were made from a total of 331 talented North Jersey students.

The Elementary Honors Band Festival was scheduled to take place on May 2nd at South Orange Middle School and conclude with an afternoon concert. Unfortunately, due to the stay-at-home orders, the festival could not take place this year.

LRS Band Teachers Kate Katz and Timothy Orton shared, “We would like to commend these students for the hard work that secured their nomination and look forward to seeing many musical accomplishments from them in the future!”
