Once again the 24th Annual St. Therese Carnival 2018 finished up this year's four-day event to deliver the regional best in Food, Games, Rides, Events, and other Community offerings that makes this a must-attend for family fun for the whole community in Northern Jersey.
Hopatcong Lake Regional News had the ability to cover this specular event on Thursday Night, and we found the entire event, easy to access, well-run and managed to the point that it ensures fun for the whole family regardless of the age.
The Carnival also had other Additional Attraction Overviews:
- Food Tent Featuring: Hot Dogs, Burgers, Pizza, Funnel Cakes, Ice Cream, French Fries, Chicken, Italian Food
- Local Bands including Kevin Mc Ardle, DJ’s at Large, Kids Entertainment, Karate Demonstrations
- Daily 50.50 every night – With Parish Mega 50-50 on Saturday (Last year the winner got $38,000)
According to Michael Calabrese, Carnival Committee Chairman of St. Therese. “This event continues to be a major fundraiser for the Parish with this year’s funds helping to replace the Organ that is over 40 years old. The Organ upgrade would not be possible without the people that attend, our sponsors, Roxbury Fire & EMT and to the over 300 people that donated their time to help run this event.”
SABRETTI’S 8th ANNUAL NEW JERSEY STATE HOT DOG EATING CONTEST
Sabretti's Hot Dogs & Wild Game Sausages was special guest of Thursday night as they offered $3,000 in prizes to the top three contestants that could eat as many Hot Dogs as they can in 10 minutes. These nine contests came from several local areas like Hopatcong, Roxbury, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
By the time the Hot Dog Eating contest got underway at 8:15 PM, that main stage was standing room only as the attendees of the St. Therese carnival needed to witness this event first hand.
Watch the 5 Minute Video attached, and see if you spot the winners at the start? And did your choices on the actual winners surprise you?
