Roxbury Art Students Place in Mt. Olive National Art Honor Society Invitational

Two Roxbury High School seniors, Tara Egan and Evan Van Biert, both had artwork submitted in the 32nd Annual Mount Olive High School National Art Honor Society Invitational this year.

Egan came away the big winner, winning first place in the crafts category for her embroidery and was awarded a four-year, $48,000 scholarship to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia while Van Biert placed second in the mixed media category for his work with toner transfers.

Congratulations to Tara and Evan and all the other students who were selected for the competition and special congratulations to all the winners.

The Mount Olive Chapter of the National Art Honor Society sponsors this annual invitational competition and is open to students from Mount Olive High School, as well as students from 13 other various area high schools like Booton, Bridgewater-Raritan, Butler, High Point, Montville, North Hunterdon, North Warren, Randolph, Roxbury, Vernon and Voorhees.

This year’s invitational had 130 pieces of artwork submitted making it eligible for various scholarships.
