April is National Autism Awareness Month and the Eisenhower Middle School Student Council and the students in the school having been building awareness about autism and sharing facts on the homeroom announcements.
The EMS staff also wanted to take part in spreading awareness and more than half participated in a dress down fundraiser on April 25th to support New Jersey’s autism community. The staff raised almost two hundred dollars, all of which will be donated to the Autism of NJ Ambassador Program.
The Autism of NJ Ambassador Program website states, “This program began in 1998 as a Dress Down Day Fundraiser. Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised since then to support Autism New Jersey’s programs simply by dressing down.” For more information regarding this organization, please visit https://www.autismnj.org/hub/dress-down-days.
