Lake Information

The LH Guide Map funded from a generous BoatUS Foundation grant  is now available and it is FREE.  You can stop by the LHF office or many lakefront businesses and marinas on Lake Hopatcong to pick up a copy.  Since the LH Guide Map is printed on water-resistant paper, you don’t have to worry if it gets a little wet.

 

In addition to helping with lake navigation, the map includes a list of lakeside businesses, marinas with pump out stations, it also has very important information about invasive species prevention.  Thanks to all of you that voted online for the foundation to get this grant.

Over the Memorial Day weekend period a small 14’ boat overturned at launched from Lee's County Park Marina near Van Every and Great cove in Mount Arlington.

Weed Harvesting starts this month on Limited Budget

The Hopatcong Lake Commission doesn't expect an increase this year in the $155,000 allocated by the state for weed harvesting. Which means that the wedd harvesting may end early again this year.

On April 21, 2016, the Marine Trades Association of New Jersey (MTA/NJ) held its Annual Dinner and Elections at The Mill in Spring Lake. Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno attended the event and addressed the members, discussing the challenges of running a marine business, the impacts of Hurricane Sandy and the reduced sales tax on boats.

Updated Hopatcong Lake Levels as of 05/02/2016

As we enter May and the start of the ideal boating season, we find that the lake has only risen to 8.3 feet since the last reading on 04/20.2016. While we are well within the depth necessary, lets hope that the next week that is forecasted full of rain raises the level a little more, just in case of a dry summer.
