The Lake Hopatcong Foundation Lake (LHF) Loop 2016 got underway Sunday right on schedule. While there was light rain in the morning, it didn’t slow down the participants.

Came for the CakeThe LHF volunteers were on-site bright and early to prepare for this event, offering last minute registrations, and snacks to the first set of people that were “getting fit for the lake.” It all started with the riders that were doing the 46-mile lake loop. In speaking to a local team, they expected to finish the race in under 3-hours, even with the wet conditions.

The second group to launch were the dog walkers, where it was clear that the dogs couldn’t care less about the rain, as treats were being handed out before the start of the event.

As always, this is a great event for the lake since LHF continues to tailor this for everyone regardless of your athletic capability or the type of event you’d like to participate in. At the start of the event, they had raised over $43,000 of the $50,000 goal.

Quick list of the Events:

  • The Bike Ride (46 or 20 miles)
  • The Adventure Run/Walk 1.5 mile or 5K
  • Dog Walk
  • The Lake Paddle

We’re already looking forward to this event in 2017!
