Lake Commission Meeting – Improvement to Lee's County Park Marina Starting 2021

During the Lake Hopatcong Commission Meeting that was held on October 13, 2020 by Zoom Technology. The Morris County Park Commission provided the three projects that are underway.

  • Pavilion Rehabilitation
  • Circulation & Access Plan
  • NJDEP Water Quality Restoration Grant

The Park was donated to the Park Commission in 1994 by the Lee family, the redesign help funded by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation will allow for the Marina to be used for public access, weddings, and group meetings all during the summer months.

The proposed plans include a full catering kitchen and can seat 137 people with tables and chairs or, 294 with chairs only.

Final Design is expected to be done at the end of January 2021. Plan will be implemented in four phases starting in the Spring of 2021.

Circulation and Access Plans will supply enough parking for the Marina (about 60 boats launched each day) and activities at the Pavilion.

During the Meeting the Lake Hopatcong Foundation expressed great Interest for the Marina to have a boat wash to prevent invasive plant species coming from other lakes.
