We at the Lake Hopatcong Foundation are thrilled to be ringing in the new year in our new home at the Lake Hopatcong Train Station building (finally)!
Although the building rehabilitation work is not completely finished, we have moved into our office area (on the left side of the building) and are officially “open for business” at our new address: 125 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850.
We are looking forward to also seeing the completion of the next phase of work in the foyer and main hall, and will be opening our doors for an official open house in the spring. We have big plans for the building in 2019, including hosting a Smithsonian exhibit in July and August, and beginning our programming efforts in this new community space, to be named the Lake Hopatcong Environmental and Cultural Center.
In the meantime, we cannot being to express our gratitude to everyone who made this move possible, going back to all those volunteers who came our for our building and grounds cleanup in November 2014, right through to our project management team and everyone who made monetary contributions toward the building rehabilitation. This milestone is shared among so many of you, and we thank each of you for making it possible.
We also must thank the Camp Six family, for donating office space to the LHF for nearly seven years. We will miss seeing the folks at the Nolan’s Point office (and the view!), and we will be forever grateful for our little organization’s first home.
This is an exciting time for us, and we will continue to keep you posted as the next phases of the project are complete.
