Great progress is being made this year at the Lake Hopatcong Train Station, soon to be the Lake Hopatcong Foundation headquarters as well as the Lake Hopatcong Environmental and Cultural Center.

Train Station Update Spring 2018
February saw the plaster walls restored to the waiting room or great hall area.
The walls were followed by electric conduits and new floors in the left portion of the building which will serve as our offices and visitors center. This will bring the building up to accessibility standards as the floor is now all the same height as the wonderful original terrazzo floor which remains in the great hall area.
Next up… we are very much looking forward to receiving the restored and re-manufactured windows in mid-March!
We would like to thank contractor Bob O’Donnell and his team, Margaret Hickey, our architect, and the entire Lake Hopatcong community for their tremendous contributions to the progress we have made to date. Work will continue through the spring as we continue to move toward relocating our office into the station this summer, and as we begin to host community programming at the Environmental and Cultural Center in the fall.
