Wild Times at Patrick’s Pub for Chili Cook-Off

The annual chili cook-off was held Sunday at Patrick’s Pub to benefit Team Patrick’s Leap in the Lake that further supports special needs children at Camp Moore.

JeanMix a Bar Scene, Live Entertainment, Chili, 50/50 Raffle and a Tricky Tray and you are bound to have a great Sunday afternoon, as the 100’s of attendees that participated in the great event will confirm.

Jean Burk-Ujvary, who oversees the Chili Cook-Off stated. “We are all one when it comes to raising funds for the Special Needs Children, we’d like to thank all of the restaurants around the lake, and Patrick’s Pub for hosting this event.”

LarryThe 18 chili entries from around the lake that were carefully judged by a non-professional panel, as they looked for Aroma, Taste, Texture, Color, and after-bite. After the careful judging of all 18 entries, there was a surprise tie between number 2 and 17.

The tie required the Larry Bellack Jr. Captain of Patrick’s Pub leap in the lake to come in and break the tie, based on his own judgment.

“It was a difficult choice as they were both very good, but I have to score number two as the winner.” Stated Larry.

1st Place went to Darlene  

2nd Place Cathryn with a pork-based Chili

3rd Place was taken by Jill

Live entertainment at the event was performed by Ciro Patti Jr. who donated his time and played throughout the contest to help support this special cause.
