Hopatcong Lake Regional News recently had the chance to catch up with Rob Davidson the head Volunteer for the Adventure Run/Walk 1.5 mile or 5K, to get some more detailed information about this event.

In 2013 when the Adventure Run/Walk was launched by Lake Hopatcong Foundation (LHF) as part of the Lake Loop, Rob Davidson was hand-picked to help create and lead this event due to his extensive background in leading the Salt Shakers Running Club in Byram, which focuses on Trail Running.

“I was challenged with the development of this course, as we wanted to stay 100% in the park, and also include everything the park has to offer such as the monuments, buildings, dam and the beach,” stated Rob.

“I’m very pleased with how it turned out, as it has a little of everything on the trail. You have a little bit of pavement, a couple of challenging hills, running or walking through grassy fields, and even a walk or run on the beach.”

Trail RunFor Any Level:

“This trail allows people of any shape to challenge themselves, to whatever degree they are capable of physically. No one is judging you, accomplish what you can accomplish, while raising money for a good cause.”

“We all need to give back, and this event will help the LHF, the Lake, and the Community. So, my advice for everyone is get out and do it. Don’t judge yourself against anyone else, just do what you can do.”

Rob Davidson along with fellow volunteer John Summers is looking forward to seeing you on September 24, 2017, at 8:00am for the Dog Walk and 11:00am as the Adventure Run/Walk gets underway. You can register here for any of the events, and examine a map of the Adventure Run/Walk Trail.
