The Lake Steward Program was created to help prevent the spread of invasive species to Lake Hopatcong through education. Lake Stewards distribute materials to boaters and answer questions about clean boating practices.

Lake Stewards will work outdoors in most weather conditions at Lee’s County Park.
Shifts: Part-time shifts available Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from late May to late August; must be available to work some weekends.
Interns – Must be 14 years of age or older.
Lake Steward Intern Duties:
-Distribution of printed materials to watercraft users
-Answering of questions on invasive species/clean boating
-Completion of short questionnaire to users and collection of data from questionnaire
-Strong communication skills
-Sound understanding of customer relations
-Comfortable approaching lake users and working outdoors
-Ability to work independently
-Interest in environmental work
