A veteran youth camp counselor once said…“School prepares you for college. Camp prepares you for life.” The Jefferson Township Recreation Department is excited to announce that its 14th season of summer day camp at Camp Jefferson will run for 8 weeks from June 26 through August 18 in a safe and natural environment at the township’s 94-acre facility at 81 Weldon Road in Lake Hopatcong, NJ.
Starting this Sunday is the long-awaited Farmers Market for the Township of Jefferson, which took months of planning and work to produce this community event for the Township.

WORK TO BE DONE ON BOTH JEFFERSON BRIDGES STARTING EARLY SUMMER
Installation of boating navigation lights on two Lake Hopatcong bridges in Jefferson will begin in late June after approval of the project by the Morris County Board of Freeholders, with work expected to start by late June.
The Hopatcong Lake Regional News got an early review of the Jefferson “The Carnival” after everything was set-up today, and we can tell you that tonight’s opening is going to be phenomenal!
The Jefferson Township Recreation Department’s Karate Program will begin its next 11-week session on Monday, June 5, 2017 and continue through Monday, August 28, 2017. There will be no class on July 3 and August 21. The program is open to school age children ages Kindergarten and up as well as adults.
Jefferson Township Teen Scene (JTTS), in conjunction with the Jefferson Township Recreation Department provides positive opportunities for resident teens ranging from 6th to 9th grades. The aim of Teen Scene is to offer teens a place where they can gather with one another in a safe and supervised environment.
The Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House, will have an open house on Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 1 to 4 pm. Admission is free. Costumed docents will be available to talk about this Victorian home. The theme of this month’s exhibit is “Pteridomania: The Victorian Fern Craze.”
The Jefferson Township Police Department is hosting the first Police Bike N’ Trike Chase as part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign.
