Fall is officially upon us, and families soon will begin planning for the upcoming holiday season - beginning with Halloween. COVID-19 has presented us with many challenges, and some traditional ways in which this holiday is celebrated does not permit us to minimize contact with non-household members. For this reason, it is important to plan early and identify safe alternatives.

Jefferson Twp., NJ:  Town council candidates Pamela Fadden, Keith Peters and Maria Short are appreciative today that their campaign could raise the issue of the rolling tax assessment and its damaging financial implications to the township school budget to fellow residents in their recently-released campaign video.  In Mayor Eric Wilsusen’s Fall 2020 update message, he announced the repeal of the rolling tax assessment policy.

The celebration of the upcoming holiday season will indeed be a unique one this year.  Like so many other events being canceled due to the current Covid-19 restrictions in place, the 15th annual Christmas in the Village (CIV) celebration in the Village of Milton area of Jefferson Township has been canceled.  However, the annual Gingerbread House contest sponsored each year by the Jefferson Arts Committee (JAC) during this December event will be held virtually this year.

This is the time of the year where planning would be in full force for the 15th annual Christmas in the Village (CIV) event on Saturday, December 5. However, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Jefferson Arts Committee (JAC) and its partner organizations have decided to cancel the event this year based on current guidelines for social distancing, maximum allowable indoor capacity at a venue, restrictions on serving food, and the fact that there is no entertainment to site at any venue.
