The Youth Sports Research Council in cooperation with the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association and Jefferson Township Recreation Department presents THE RUTGERS S.A.F.E.T.Y. CLINIC Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth.

The state of New Jersey requires volunteer coaches to attend a “safety orientation and training skills program” in order to be eligible for civil immunity protection provided by the Little League Law (2A:62A-6 et. seq.) The curriculum for the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic is based upon the Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs (N.J.A.C. 5:52) and has been tested in court as having met the standards.

The topics for this class include *Legal Aspects of Coaching *Psychological Aspects of Coaching *General Coaching Concepts *Training and Conditioning of Athletes *Medical/First Aid Aspects of Coaching.
Volunteer coaches who attend this program receive:
- The Coaches Reference Manual (4th edition)
- Certification card acknowledging attendance
- Permanent registration with the Rutgers YSRC
Registration for this activity is online only -- Log on to ttps://register.communitypass.net/reg/index.cfm, the community/organization is Jefferson Township, and if you already have a Community Pass account, enter your log in and password, choose the activity under the season “Winter/Spring 2017” and register and pay the activity fee. Jefferson coaches/residents are free but still need to register.
If you need to set up a Community Pass account, you can easily follow the prompts to set up a personal family account in your name. You will automatically receive an email confirmation after you register and make your payment.
If you experience difficulty in setting up an account online, you can log on to ww.jeffersontownship.net, click on the “Form Center” link on the left side of the home page, and scroll down to the Recreation Department to find “Community Pass Online Registration Instructions” with step-by-step directions for Community Pass. The Jefferson Township Recreation Department is no longer accepting paper registration forms so you will be using your personal Community Pass account to register yourself and family members for all Jefferson Recreation Department activities, so remember your log in and password.
