Jefferson Township Recreation is partnering with Skylands Ice World to offer an entry level Learn to Skate program and Youth Hockey lessons at their 2765 State Highway 23 Stockholm, NJ location.
The entry level Youth Hockey lesson program will consist of 10 weeks of fast-paced hockey action coached by Patrick Choules, Skylands Ice World’s Hockey Director.
He has a very extensive background in hockey including his NCAA play at Potsdam, and he’s excelled at every level of hockey and knows what it takes to get to the next level. The session will start on Monday, February 27 and run through Monday, May 15 from 6:10 to 7:10 p.m. (no class on 4/3 and 4/17 due to Kings’ tryouts). The early registration session cost is $150 and the price increases to $160 on February 27. A very limited supply of hockey equipment is available for loan, skates and helmets are available, please dress for a winter outdoor activity. The session is limited to 50 players.
The entry level Learn to Skate program will consist of seven weeks of ice skating instruction coached by Skylands Skating Academy Director Kim Sutton-Murphy.
She has a very extensive background in figure skating and program direction and has excelled at every level of skating. Session options are Wednesdays from March 1 through May 17 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Fridays from March 3 through May 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Pre-school Fridays from March 3 through May 19 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; or Saturdays March 4 through May 20 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. (no classes on 4/5, 4/7, 4/8, 4/19, 4/21, and 4/22 due to Kings’ tryouts and spring break). If registered prior to March 1, the 10-week program cost is $150; after March 1, the cost is $160. Note that a $15 USFS fee for insurance is also required, skates and helmets are available to rent, dress for a winter outdoor activity.
