Jefferson Township Police – Capture Possible Suicidal Male – After Manhunt using K-9 Dogs

On July 21,2020 at approximately 6:15pm, Jefferson Twp. Police Officers responded to 5774 Berkshire Valley Rd for a report of a male who was reported to be suicidal, and in possession of illegal narcotics. Additional unsubstantiated reports indicated he may also be in possession of a weapon.

Officers were given a description of the male and the vehicle he was operating which was observed in the parking lot of 5774 Berkshire Valley Rd. The male was identified by Officers as David Good, 31, from Oak Ridge, NJ.

As Officers attempted to speak with Good, he fled on foot into the wooded area behind 5774 Berkshire Valley Rd. A perimeter was established, and a search of the wooded area was conducted by police.

Screen Shot 2020 07 22     Morris County Sheriff's K9 Unit FacebookUpon searching the area for several hours, Good was apprehended without further incident or injury. Good was taken into custody and transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing on 08/26/2020.

Jefferson Twp. Police Dept. Officers were assisted by the Morris County Sheriff’s Dept., K-9 Unit and Morris County Sheriff’s Dept. Officers, Morris County Office of Emergency Management, West Milford Police Dept., Morris County Park Police and Jefferson Twp. Office of Emergency Management.

All charges and allegations in the complaints are merely accusations, and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
