Jefferson Township Police: Pedestrian Struck in Hit & Run on Route 15 South

At approximately 1:09 a.m. on February 2, 2020, a 25 year old male was struck by a vehicle in the area of 619 Rt. 15 South which left the scene.

Following the crash, first arriving officers identified the male victim in the shoulder of the roadway with injuries to the head and upper body. The male was transported by helicopter to Morristown Medical Center and is currently in stable condition. The identity of this male will not be released at this time. The driver of the vehicle that struck the male has been identified and the incident remains under investigation. The identity of the driver will not be released at this time.

Numerous mutual aid and/or law enforcement agencies participated in the investigation, including the Jefferson Township Rescue Squad, the Jefferson Township Fire CO#2, the Jefferson Township Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office – Major Crimes Unit, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
