Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1’s firehouse at 162 Milton Road will be transformed into The Village Marketplace with 18 arts, crafts, and merchandise vendors during The Jefferson Arts Committee’s 12th annual Christmas in the Village event on Saturday, December 2 from 10 am to 4 pm.  Located in the historically designated Village of Milton in the Milton/Oak Ridge section of Jefferson Township, admission is free as is parking.

Fuel Dock Fundraiser to honor service men and women who stand guard for our freedoms - Bridge Marina will donate ten cents of every gallon of fuel purchased at its fuel dock on Lake Hopatcong to Folds of Honor, a non-profit dedicated to providing educational scholarships to the children and spouses of our fallen and disabled servicemen and women.

Lake Hopatcong, N.J. – This Fourth of July weekend, Bridge Marina is looking to honor the service men and women who stand guard over our freedoms.  From Saturday, July 1 through Monday, July 3rd, Bridge Marina, located on New Jersey’s largest lake, will donate ten cents of every gallon of fuel purchased at its fuel dock to Folds of Honor, a non-profit dedicated to providing educational scholarships to the children and spouses of our fallen and disabled servicemen and women.

Folds of Honor was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard who served three tours of duty in Iraq.  Folds of Honor has awarded more than 10,000 scholarships in all 50 states, as well as Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. “Our motto says it best,” said Major Rooney, “Honor their sacrifice.  Educate their legacy.”

Bridge MarinaAbout the upcoming fundraising event, Ray Fernandez, owner of Bridge Marina, Inc., said, “We are proud to stand with the Folds of Honor and we are committed to raising money to help the Foundation realize its mission.  Together, we can honor those heroes who stand guard over our freedoms and make a difference in the lives of their families who have sacrificed so much.”
