Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1’s firehouse at 162 Milton Road will be transformed into The Village Marketplace with 18 arts, crafts, and merchandise vendors during The Jefferson Arts Committee’s 12th annual Christmas in the Village event on Saturday, December 2 from 10 am to 4 pm.  Located in the historically designated Village of Milton in the Milton/Oak Ridge section of Jefferson Township, admission is free as is parking.

On Monday, November 13th, Dr. Fred Lubnow of Princeton Hydro will present the 2017 Lake Hopatcong water quality monitoring results at the Lake Hopatcong Commission meeting.  The open public meeting begins at 7pm at the Mount Arlington Civic Center, 7 Fern Road.

Jefferson Farmers' Market Kicks Off with Big Crowds

The Hopatcong Lake Regional News was pleased to cover the opening of the Jefferson Township Farmers Market. Where the initial vendors worked hard to satisfy the big crowd that attended this opening event.

Jefferson Farmers MarketAfter the initial opening ceremonies, the Market got underway, as the vendors were busy in their effort to bring locally grown products to the residents which is a major portion of this Farmer's Market Mission Statement!

Initial Vendors:

As this Farmer’s Market kicks-off they have several vendors, with many more coming in the very near future. In addition, they are planning special community involvement, entertainment, and projects for the kids.

Feisty Pepper Garden Market:

While due to the cold spring that has delayed the growing season the Feisty Pepper will initially offer Vegetable Plants and Flowers at the Grand Opening, later expanding to their full assortment of fresh produce as the growing season catches up.

Olsen's Honey & Spice Farm:

This local vendor will be providing locally obtained fresh honey products.

Pickle Licious:

This favorite vendor of Farmer’s Markets that was “Voted Best Specialty Food shop 2016” will be offering a wide variety of Pickles, Olives, Relishes, and many other related items.

Corbett's Cookie Bar Kitchen:

Coming from Warwick, NY. where all baking is done on premise, as they offer artisan cookie bars, brownies, breakfast bars and granola bars. They make a variety of homemade marshmallows. They make their own low sugar, no preservative jams which they use in their products.

Throughout the season, they will be bringing to us, cold steeped iced coffee, herbal teas, fresh squeezed lemonade and homemade hot chocolate.

They carry over 35 cookie bar flavors: Caramel Apple Crumble, Banana Bread Breakfast, Key Lime. Berry Patch, Chocolate Glazed Peanut Butter, Strawberry Rhubarb, S'mores, to name a few.

They also Carry Gluten Free varieties including Marvelous Maria, Lemon Almond, Almond Butter Chocolate Chip to name a few.

They will also be offering Coffee by the bag. Homemade Marshmallows in lots of flavors. Also, Drop Cookies in Coconut Cream and Chocolate Crinkle, Raisin Oatmeal flavors.

Sparta Mountain Farms:

Will provide the most delicious Jams, Jellies, Salsas and sell Farm Fresh Eggs.

Mission of the Jefferson Township Farmers Market, LLC

Both Vicki and Tom were very clear about the mission of the Farmer’s market. “This is all about promoting local businesses and to bring the freshest most wholesome products possible to our residents. We’re going to start small and add as necessary.”

“This summer, we are also working on plans to have special activities for the Kids, we'll also have Local artists providing background music and many other very special events, which everyone can follow on our Facebook page.” Shared Vicki and Tom.
