On Thursday, February 2, Superintendent Randina, Board of Education Member Candice Smith and Music Teacher / STEAM Facilitator Kurt Zimmermann attended the February Meeting at the Hopatcong Seniors' Center. Ms. Randina presented to a packed house as she gave an overview of the district’s 1-to-1 Chromebook initiative and briefly explained the Arts Integration program. Mrs. Smith presented the highlights and accomplishments at each school. Mr. Zimmermann discussed the concept of STEAM education and some of the lessons and trips planned in this concentration as part of the evolving STEAM Academy program.
Hopatcong Seniors Inc. President Henry Schmidt said “I love to promote our school system whenever I get the opportunity, especially with our seniors as they are such a large group of active citizens within our community. I just wanted to say a sincere thank you for speaking at our meeting this morning. I received a number of positive feedbacks from our members after the meeting ended. That's probably the first time in a while that the members actually paid attention to what someone was saying without me having to bang the gavel."
