Concerned Citizens for a Better Hopatcong Education is hosting a meeting October 4th at the Senior Center, where they state… “Ask Questions-Get Answers-It’s that Simple!”

On their Facebook page, the Concerned Citizens wrote.

“Immediately after the October 4th "Meet the Candidates" event at the Senior Center, the Concerned Citizens group will announce our endorsement for this year's BoE election.

Four candidates, supported by the Concerned Citizens, are now serving on the Hopatcong Board of Education. We endorsed those four Board members (Karpiak, Schindelar, Trumpore, DiStefano) because we believed they would begin the process of instilling fiscal discipline and responsible management of the academic programs.

We have begun to see improvement, but not nearly enough. They represent only 4 votes. 4 out of 9 votes means that fiscal discipline and responsible management of the district's academic mission does not always win.”

The Hopatcong lake Regional News, was not able to determine the format of the meeting from the limited information available.

The next event to hear the candidates will be October 10, 2016 7:30 PM - Hopatcong Senior Center (2nd Floor), which is sponsored by the Hopatcong Republican Club.
