As the New Jersey Harald was gathering BIO’s from the candidates, they found two candidates that needed to drop out of the race.

First to withdraw is Jim Bongiorno who is already president of the “Concerned Citizens for a Better Hopatcong Education.”

Which is the organization that seemed to force Frank Farruggia from not running again, as Frank commented in July 2016, “The biggest factor for resigning is the influence that a group known as Concerned Citizens for a Better Hopatcong Education has on the board. I feel they are counterproductive to the overall purpose of the board.”

Jim cited the reason for his withdraw as, “Business activities that may not allow him to devote the time necessary.”

Second to withdraw, was Hornick Marcazo, due to a recent move beyond her control, she is no longer a resident of Hopatcong.

In here interview with the New Jersey Harald, she stated. “I encourage any of my supporters to vote for Ruth Fouda. "(Ruth) is a very, very good human being,"

This leaves the following five people seeking one of the three open positions:

  • Ruth Fouda

  • Anthony Fasano

  • David Barella

  • Alexander McLean

  • Warren B. Gallagher III
