Today the Borough of Hopatcong recognizes Eric Petersen whereby Proclamation – he has earned the Arrow of Light Award progressing him into the Boy Scouts. As mentioned by the Mayor and Council Members this award is given based upon great service already given to the community.
PROCLAMATION:
WHEREAS, the strength and future of a community are reflected in the activities, successes, and accomplishments of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Eric Petersen, a member of Cub Scout Pack 194, has earned the highest award in Cub Scouting, the “Arrow of Light Award” by completing all the requirements outlined by the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, Eric is an outstanding young man who has been very active in his Den, meeting every challenge through hard work and determination; and
WHEREAS, Eric has earned numerous merit badges demonstrating his knowledge in a variety of subjects. He has also been an attendee at Boy Scout Troop meetings and Boy Scout-oriented outdoor activities, enjoying exciting adventures in the world of nature and developing skills necessary to become a good steward of the environment; and
WHEREAS, Eric has grown in knowledge, skills and confidence building a strong foundation for future accomplishments. His sense of community involvement and concern for others sets him apart from the ordinary and inspires all of us. It is with great joy that I “Congratulate” Eric and wish him much success throughout his Boy Scout journey.
