The Hopatcong Woman’s Club continues to meet new challenges head-on and provide multiple areas of community support, as they know everyone is counting on them in this time of demand.
In speaking to Club President, Pat Beach. “Our Club Motto is “Let us unite in service… And the club has been able to step-up to maintain our services as we know everyone is counting on us.”
“With the help of our members, as well as the assistance of the Hopatcong community, we have been able to help to continue our support of the community during these uncertain times in the following areas.”
Areas of Assistance:
The Hopatcong Woman’s Club post office collection box (pictured right), continues to collect for Project Self-Sufficiency who recently reported has helping over 1,000 weekly. This important Sussex County organization rely in part to groups like the Woman’s Club to keep the donations following.
- Through our food collections bins (primarily the Hopatcong Post Office location in recent times), we have donated much-needed pantry items to Project Self-Sufficiency. projectselfsufficiency.org
Additional Areas of Continued Assistance:
- Over the past month, we have collected donations for I Support the Girls including essential items for those facing homelessness, and these items were distributed to shelters in Northern and Central NJ. https://isupportthegirls.org/
- We have also made a monetary donation to the West Side Methodist Church to help their food pantry and community service. http://www.hopatcongwestsideumc.org/
- New Fundraiser: Be sure to check our HWC Facebook page for details regarding a new online fundraiser for May. Thirty-One Online will be taking orders and the Hopatcong Woman’s Club will receive a percentage of sales to help with our community efforts and to replenish scholarship funds.
Hopatcong Woman’s Club:
Our general membership meetings will be held via phone conference until further notice, but we can’t wait to see familiar faces, as well as new ones, once we are cleared to gather again. We are scheduling a full array of activities for the fall and 2021.
