Mayor of Hopatcong organizes community – Residents-Helping-Residents

The Mayor of Hopatcong who is known for proactive action has started an unofficial Residents-Helping-Residents service for the Borough.

“The governing body of Hopatcong is working hard for our residents, and we will be providing accurate information as it becomes available. Stated Mayor, Michael Francis.

“In the meantime, I’m spearheading an effort to organize residents that are able to help, to residents that need some type of assistance. If someone needs assistance in my community, I’m going to make sure they get it.”

These additional support services are expected to augment the services that are coming out from the State and County as they deal with

Naming himself as the focal point to start, he is requesting that residents of the borough contact him by email or phone if they fall into one of the following categories.

  • If you are able to provide any type of general services or assistance (Shopping, Errands, etc.)
  • If you are in need of assistance

The mayor will then match the incoming requests for assistance to those residents that have offered their services.

The Mayor also emphasized that these requests should be beyond the services that are currently provided by the county or state.
