Hopatcong Community Center – March Schedule – Two Major Announcements

For the month of March, the Hopatcong Community Resource & Wellness Center has two major announcements that go beyond their normally busy schedule.

Major Announcements:

RECOVERY COACH:

As mentioned by Councilwoman Dawn Roberts during the February 5th Council meeting, Grant money has been obtained to fund weekly visits from a Recovery Coach. These new sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 3:00 – 6:00 PM, starting March 4th.

Entitled, “Drop-In for Recovery” the Center for Prevention and Counseling provides trained recovery coaches with lived experience to assist community members with a recovery plan, free of charge, no appointment necessary.

WRAP OUR VETERANS IN A ((HUG)):

The Hopatcong Community Center will be collecting new or handmade blankets/throws at the center until March 16th. Afterwards, the donations will be distributed to the VA Hospitals in our area. The center posted the following on their Facebook page. “If you would like a veteran that is battling a post-war injury to sleep under a blanket of Love, as you sleep under the blanket of Freedom, feel free to drop in at 47 Hopatchung rd. in Hopatcong with your gift.”

Project Self Sufficiency Journey Bus

Mon, March 2, 10am – 4pm

PSS Journey contains computer workstations, internet, and a classroom and counseling area. The vehicle brings essential services and supplies to remote areas of Sussex and Morris Counties.

If you are looking for information on local resources, job searching assistance, counseling services, food assistance, etc. please check out the bus!

Look for it in the plaza parking lot.

Dr. Eric: Chiropractic Workshop

Tue, March 3, 11am – 7pm

Presented by Dr. Eric Loewrigkeit

Protect yourself and your loved ones against scammers. Detective Grogan from the Sussex County Prosecutors Office will be here to answer questions

COFFEE WITH OUR COPS

Thu, March 5, 6pm – 8pm

Come join our very own HPD Officer Still for some coffee and an opportunity to ask him any questions you may have. He will be available from 6pm-8pm @ the Hopatcong Community Resource Wellness Center. All are welcome!

Meet Mayor Mike!

Mon, March 16, 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Come on out and meet Mike the Mayor! He will be here to answer any questions you may have and share his vision for our beautiful town. All are welcome.

Seniors Caregiver Support Group

Tue, March 17, 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Are you a caregiver of an elderly person? Do you feel isolated? Are you seeking support to manage the stress you may be feeling as a caregiver? If so, this group is for you. All are welcome. Meets monthly.
