While every month is special at the Hopatcong Community Resource & Wellness Center the Month of February brings the PSS Journey Bus back to Hopatcong, and two other major events outlined below.

WOMENS OUTLOOK ON RETIREMENT

Are you ready? Worried? Eager?

Just reading the word “retirement” may raise a mix of emotional responses for you - both excitement and anxiety.

Time Matters: A Women’s Retirement Outlook is specifically tailored for women who are getting ready for or have recently transitioned to retirement.

During this special program, we’ll:

    • Discuss retirement income strategies, including perspectives around Social Security and making your retirement savings last.
    • Address how to prepare for the unexpected, including market risks and the impact of rising costs.

Food and refreshments will be served.

PROJECT SELF-SUFFICIENCY JOURNEY BUS

PSS Journey Bus InsideMon, February 3, 10am – 4pm -and- Tue, February 18, 10am – 4pm

PSS Journey contains computer workstations, internet, and a classroom and counseling area. The vehicle brings essential services and supplies to remote areas of Sussex and Morris Counties.

If you are looking for information on local resources, job searching assistance, counseling services, food assistance, etc. please check out the bus!

Look for it in the plaza parking lot.

 

SUSSEX COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Wed, February 26, 6pm – 7pm

Sheriff’s Office will be here discussing programs offered, as well as about wristbands for people with Dementia and Autism who may wander away.

logo projectlifesaverThe Sussex County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Project Lifesaver in an effort to provide enhanced support and assistance to Sussex County residents who are primary caregivers for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, Down syndrome or related cognitive disorders.

Project Lifesaver utilizes SafetyNet by LoJack, a tracking system which assists law enforcement in quickly locating individuals who have wandered. Implemented nationwide by more than one thousand agencies, the Project Lifesaver program has reduced search time from days down to an average of thirty minutes with no serious injuries or fatalities reported.

Come join our very own HPD Officer Still for some coffee and an opportunity to ask him any questions you may have. He will be available from 6pm-8pm @ the Hopatcong Community Resource Wellness Center. All are welcome!

Are you a caregiver of an elderly person? Do you feel isolated? Are you seeking support to manage the stress you may be feeling as a caregiver?

If so, this group is for you. All are welcome. Meets monthly.
