On Saturday, October 6, the Hopatcong Marching Chiefs entertained hundreds of people in Sussex and Morris Counties. In the afternoon they proudly led the Hopatcong Fire Department in the 99th Annual Sussex County Fireman's Parade through the packed streets of Franklin.

Hundreds of enthusiastic parade attendees clapped, danced and cheered along to the band's patriotic parade performance. The Hopatcong Fire Department was very proud to accept a "1st Place Best Appearing Band” in their behalf later at the exposition.

That evening, the Chiefs performed a crowd pleasing show at the Randolph “Under the Stars” Marching Band Competition, with bands from Morris, Bergen and Passaic Counties.

The Chiefs placed first in their division and "swept" the awards for best music, best visual, best percussion and best guard for the second year in a row! Numerous crowd attendees told Hopatcong staff and parents that their performance is consistently one of the highlights at the show each year.
