Art DiBenedetto, Hopatcong Superintendent of Schools, Announces - 16th Annual Science Expo
Second and third grade students at the Hopatcong Tulsa Trail Elementary School exhibited excellence in scientific inquiry at the school’s 16th Annual Science Expo.
On Thursday, June 6th, over 230 Hopatcong students demonstrated their love for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Through an investigation using the scientific method, students conducted experiments at home with their families and presented their findings to classmates during the day. Later that night, all projects were put on display for families, teachers, and community members. The Hopatcong Expo had an attendance of over 161 families with a total of over 550 visitors.
Funded by the Hopatcong Education Association through a Project PRIDE Grant, all students who completed a project received a medal and certificate. Project PRIDE, sponsored by the New Jersey Education Association, began in 1994. The goal is to share the success of New Jersey’s public schools and build community support and involvement.
