The following are two BIOs for Dawn and Ryan that are running for the Hopatcong Borough Council. If any other Candidates wish to have their BIOs published please forward them to email@example.com.
Gold Star Mother Dedicated to Her Community
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dawn Roberts and I am running for a seat on the Borough Council. I have lived in Hopatcong for 17 years with my husband and two children.
In 2013, I was sworn-in to the American Goldstar Mother’s Organization, after my son, Sgt. Michael Kirspel, was killed in Afghanistan. His sacrifice changed my life and gave me a new purpose of service. Now, in addition to being a geriatric nurse, I help others in areas such as public speaking by visiting schools to speak to students about the agenda of other countries to bring drugs into America, and how it impacts their future. At Military events I advocate to bring more supplies and necessities to our troops deployed overseas.
I am running for Borough Council because I love Hopatcong and I would like to be involved in shaping our future. The most beautiful part of our community is the hearts of the people. I would consider serving you a Privilege and a Freedom in its purest form.
Engineer/Surveyor Dedicated to Service to His Community
My name is Ryan Smith and I am a candidate for Borough Council. I am a New Jersey Licensed Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor, and I have lived in Hopatcong since 2003 with my wife and three children.
I grew up in scouting, and the Scout Law has shaped my character and personality. Service to others is an integral part of my life. Currently, I am an Assistant Scoutmaster and High Adventure Advisor for Hopatcong Boy Scout Troop 88, and a former Den Leader with Cub Scout Pack 88. I’ve served as a Rec. Baseball and Basketball Coach. I am currently an Alternate Member of the Hopatcong Land Use Board.
I am running for Borough Council because I want to give back to my community for all they have done for me and my family. I believe that now is the time for our community to come together and strive to take us forward into the future. I would like to be a part of that process. I am proud of our town and I will serve you well.
