On October 15, 2017, the Hopatcong Police responded to an Armed Robbery at 3:15 PM that took place at "The Liquor Factory" located at 128 Lakeside Blvd.
Update: [10/17/2017 – 6:00 AM]
According to reporting from the New Jersey Herald:
- Over $400 was stolen from the Liquor Factory
- Suspect was driving a black or navy blue BMW 535i with chrome accents around the windows and five-spoke silver rims
- Based upon surveillance footage, the suspect parked behind the Liquor Factory, and left by driving onto Holiday Drive, then Brooklyn Mountain Road and then Sante Fe Trail before disappearing
Update: [October 16: 10:00 AM] The male suspect entered the store at approximately 3:15 PM wearing a Bandana, Sunglasses and a Hoody to help disguise his appearance. The suspect Brandished a handgun and took the cash from both registers. The suspect left the store on foot to a possible getaway car that was not parked in the Liquor Factory’s parking lot.
Hopatcong Police were immediately assisted by Netcong Police, Roxbury Police, and the Sheriff’s office.
Original Article: For the safety of the residents on Sunday, police disbanded the Halloween Parade and Festivities that were taking place in Modick Park just blocks away from the robbery. According to Hopatcong Police the gunman is still at large at this time.
