On Thursday, June 15, 2017 Team Bucket Fillers hosted a free lemonade stand for all the students and staff at Hudson Maxim School!
Team Bucket Fillers is the United Way Culture and Climate Student Committee at Hudson Maxim School.
The idea came during a brainstorming session about what would make Hudson Maxim an even better place to learn. Shawn George, a kindergarten student, came up with the idea for a lemonade stand.
The team of kindergarten and first grade students helped the idea grow into a reality on a hot day during recess. To come full circle as the school year closes, Team Bucket Fillers decided to add optional donations to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.
The funds were raised in memory of Alex Cafferata, the student to whom the Hudson Maxim Buddy Bench was dedicated in October. The Buddy Bench helped spread kindness to students who were looking for friends to play with at recess all year long! The team raised $300 to help children who are diagnosed with Childhood Cancer. It was a successful treat for all students and staff, with the donations going to a great cause!
