Students at Hudson Maxim School helped to "BOOst" the morale of our troops stationed overseas this Halloween, by shipping 80 pounds of candy to deployed troops, veterans, and first responders via Operation Gratitude.

Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1’s firehouse at 162 Milton Road will be transformed into The Village Marketplace with 18 arts, crafts, and merchandise vendors during The Jefferson Arts Committee’s 12th annual Christmas in the Village event on Saturday, December 2 from 10 am to 4 pm.  Located in the historically designated Village of Milton in the Milton/Oak Ridge section of Jefferson Township, admission is free as is parking.

Roxbury High School saw two senior athletes, Andy Axelson and Matt Dancsecs, commit to the Scarlet Knights last week for baseball and lacrosse. Two more Gaels, Tyler McDonald and Michael Christiansen, followed suit in signing letters of intent last Wednesday.

Two Roxbury High School seniors will be joining the Rutgers’ Scarlet Knights next fall. A letter of intent/college commitment ceremony was held Wednesday morning for two athletic scholars, Andrew “Andy” Axelson and Matthew “Matt” Dancsecs. Coaches, teammates, and family members joined these athletes at their signing at the high school.

The Project Lifesaver program has been implemented by the Morris County Sheriff’s Office in an effort to provide enhanced support and assistance to Morris County residents who are primary caregivers for an individual suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia disorder as well as families of children afflicted with Down syndrome, autism, traumatic brain injuries or cognitive impairments.

You delivered the votes and as a result of your efforts Lake Hopatcong will have a floating classroom starting in the spring of 2018.

On Monday, November 13th, Dr. Fred Lubnow of Princeton Hydro will present the 2017 Lake Hopatcong water quality monitoring results at the Lake Hopatcong Commission meeting.  The open public meeting begins at 7pm at the Mount Arlington Civic Center, 7 Fern Road.

Join us for the 6th Annual Dylan’s Dinosaur Stomp! Competitive runners, joggers, walkers, skippers, gallopers, kids and strollers are all welcome. The course starts and finishes in Modick Park with several tough "Hopatcong hills" along the route.

Didn’t Register Ahead of Time – That’s Okay – Walk-in's on Race Day are most Welcome!

This is the sixth annual running of the event, and we are already anticipating the biggest crowd to date to help support Dylan and the Foundation. Immediately following the race, there will be a Family Fun Day, which promises to be another fun filled event comprised of great friends, food and live music! Please spread the word as all are welcome to participate in the activities throughout the day! You will also have more than enough time to make it to the Lake Hopatcong Foundation - Block Party in the afternoon.

What you’re supporting:

By attending and participating in this event you will be supporting Dylan (age 8) who is suffering from Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). The funds raised during this event help support the Dylan Flinchum "Rock On!" Foundation, which was established to help support their beautiful eight-year old son, Dylan.

Immediately following the race is a Family Fun Day which will take place in Modick Park throughout the day, and promises to be an event filled with great friends, great fun, great food and great live music!

In addition, this year they will be using Rock Race Timing for official time keeping and posted race results! Medals will be awarded to the top (timed) runners in 10-year age groups. This is a USATF Certified and Sanctioned GRAND PRIX event, so completive runners are welcome!

Note: The Hopatcong Lake Regional News will be on-hand to capture your winning finishes!

How the Dinosaur Stomp got started:

Dylan is a long-time fan of Dinosaur’s so in 2012 the event was born with his love at heart, in the first year there were over 450 registered participants, and during 2017 are shooting for even more participants to help support the foundation and to have a fun day afterwards.

So please make plans to join us to support Dylan and to get your Dinosaur Stomp On!!!
