The Lake Hopatcong Historical Museum is thrilled to host local author Alex Perriello at the museum this Friday evening, April 21, from 6:00 to 7:30PM. Mr. Perriello will answer questions and sign copies of his historical fiction novel, Jacob’s War. Published in 2016, Jacob’s War is a compelling and entertaining tale set both in the present and during the Revolutionary War.
The action takes place in and around Morris County and features such local historical sites as Washington’s headquarters and Jockey Hollow during the during the winter encampment of 1779-1780 - and even a present-day boat ride on Lake Hopatcong.
A resident of Mount Arlington, Alex Perriello is widely recognized as a leader in the real estate industry. He most recently served as chief executive officer of the Realogy Franchise Group, the world’s largest franchisor of residential and commercial real estate brokerage offices. Perriello oversees the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate, CENTURY 21®, Coldwell Banker®, Coldwell Banker Commercial®, ERA and Sotheby’s International Realty® brands.
Jacob’s War is Perriello’s first novel. He has donated all proceeds from the sale of the novel to various charities, mainly the Easter Seals Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services. This Friday he is graciously donating all books so that proceeds will benefit the restoration of the Lake Hopatcong Station. To further engage the audience, Mr. Perriello will appear dressed as his protagonist, Jacob, a Continental soldier who finds himself very far from home.
The Lake Hopatcong Historical Museum is located on the grounds of Hopatcong State Park on Lakeside Boulevard in Landing. The museum will be open from 5:00 until 8:00PM this Friday and all exhibits will be open during this special event. For more information, visit www.lakehopatconghistory.org or call 973-398-2616.
