The Knee Deep Club will hold the third 2019 Ice Fishing contest on Sunday March 3, 2019. The contest will begin at 6 AM and conclude at 4PM.The contest entry fee is $20.00 for club members and $25.00 ($20.00 fee plus $5.00 non-member fee).

Although The Knee Deep Club canceled their Lake Hopatcong ice fishing contest for February 10th, following the warm spell and rain, there was still plenty of fishable ice.

Most coves along with the State Park are covered with about 7 inches of ice. The main lake is just skimmed over with some open water so that is not safe enough to fish. 

The Knee Deep Club is wishing for a real cold period so we can have safe ice for the contest

The Knee Deep Club today callled off the first 2019 Ice Fishing contest on Sunday January 20, 2019, due to the safety of the fisherman and the ice levels that were very minimal is come areas. 

The state Division of Fish and Wildlife has added a fourth North Jersey water body, the Merrill Creek Reservoir in Warren County, to its landlocked salmon stocking program, which currently has three locations in Morris and Sussex counties, to offer some recreational fun for Morris County anglers.

The Knee Deep Club will hold its fall Lake Hopatcong Walleye Weekend on October 6 and 7, 2018. The contest will begin at 5:00 AM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 and will conclude at noon on Sunday October 7, 2018.
