On July 1st 2017, residents from around the lake supported the local Veterans by being on the shoreline to send up a big cheer for the people that have served their country.

The Lake Hopatcong Foundation (LHF) continues to help the community with their major drive to Shop Local during the month of July. And this year Hopatcong Lake Regional News, will be augmenting them to further drive support and awareness with local residents into our local businesses.
This annual event at the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club received their highest attendance, and had over 50 boats on display.
The readers of Hopatcong Lake Regional News have been asking the question. “What’s Happening to our Lake, with all of this scum on the surface?" So, we investigated the issue and here is what we know. The good news is this should be a short-term issue!
LHF - Water ScoutsThe Lake Hopatcong Water Scouts were established by the Knee Deep Club in 2010 to seek out and remove any instances of the invasive water chestnut species, and the LHF took over the management of the scouts in 2013.
Support your local Veterans from the Lake Region (Hopatcong, Jefferson, Mount Arlington and Roxbury) by being on the shoreline and to send up a big cheer for the people that have served their country. Please make sure you support both cruises 9:00 AM & 11:00 AM!
As we enter into the heavy 2017 boating season for Lake Hopatcong, we find that the lake level is higher than past years, which means that weed growth at this point has not been as bad in past years. But everyone around the lake knows this is only a problem that is waiting to surface.
