Two Roxbury High School seniors will be joining the Rutgers’ Scarlet Knights next fall. A letter of intent/college commitment ceremony was held Wednesday morning for two athletic scholars, Andrew “Andy” Axelson and Matthew “Matt” Dancsecs. Coaches, teammates, and family members joined these athletes at their signing at the high school.
On a sunny, brisk fall morning, the students and staff of Franklin Elementary School honored our nation’s veteran’s in a special flag raising ceremony and presentation in front of the school. Many of the dozen or more honored veterans had a direct connection to a student in the school.
The owners of the former Ledgewood Mall received township approval this week to begin demolishing the former Macy’s store, the first step in their long-awaited plan to convert the failed mall into the new Shops at Ledgewood Commons shopping center.
Students from Roxbury High School and three area schools had the opportunity to experience art outside of their everyday classroom with an artROX workshop on October 18th. The students were fortunate enough to meet artists and participate in workshops to increase their knowledge of the art world and have the opportunity to expand their network by working with students from other schools.
The Roxbury Township Police Department is assisting Roxbury Social Services in hosting a Township Thanksgiving Food Drive. Throughout November Roxbury residents will have the opportunity to donate nonperishable items at the police department.
Roxbury put aside its rivalry with Randolph to team up for a great cause! The two high school cheerleading teams came together at Roxbury High School in mid-October to raise money for bullying prevention awareness.
