In an effort to keep boat shrink-wrap out of the trash so that it can be recycled, a collection program for this material will be launched on April 1, 2017, on Lake Hopatcong at Lee’s County Park Marina, 443 Howard Boulevard, Mount Arlington, NJ 07856.
A roll-off container with signs proclaiming “RECYCLE YOUR SHRINK WRAP HERE!!!" will be located at the marina between April 1,2017, and June 11,2017.
Anyone who has boat shrink-wrap (bundled and tied) may deliver it to the marina and stack it in the roll-off container between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. every day between April 1,2017, and June 11,2017. The shrink-wrap should be stacked as far back as possible in the roll-off.
Please see the instructions for bundling the shrink-wrap in the separate document.
By the way, our shrink-wrap collection program will not include the other materials listed on the enclosed flyer: sacrificial anodes (zinc), 55-gallon plastic drums, and mercury- containing devices; however, anyone who wants information about the proper disposal of mercury-containing devices, is welcome to call our hazardous waste coordinator at 973-829- 8006.
Please feel free to spread the word about the boat shrink-wrap program to your various contacts. Over 138 tons of this material has been collected and diverted from landfill space through our program. If you have any questions about this program, please call 973-285-8394. Thank you.
