Four Students in North Jersey Area Honors Band

Hopatcong students Amanda Corujo (Flute, Junior), Jennifer Coulman (Trumpet, Sophomore), Teresa Turnage (Trombone, Freshman) and Anthony Christiana (Junior, Trombone) auditioned for the North Jersey Area Band on December 10 at Wayne Hills High School. 

High School Honors BandThey competed with 400 students from 39 high schools from Sussex, Morris and Essex Counties.  Special congratulations to Anthony Christiana for placing in First Chair out of 30 trombone players.  The students will attend five intense rehearsals to work on challenging literature, and then perform a concert at Mt. Olive High School on Sunday, January 15 at 3:00 pm.


More About the North Jersey Area Honors Band:

The Purpose of Music Education is enhanced by the preparation, audition, and performance of selected students within the selected Northern New Jersey Schools. This enhancement includes: the preparation for audition, the rehearsal of advanced band music, the exposure to advanced conductors, and the performance of said music in a concert setting.
