Local author Leesa Beckman and pet goose, Oliver, will be attending the Hopatcong Farmers Market on Sunday August 20, 2017. Leesa is a local Author & illustrator of four children's books about Oliver the Goose and is the recent winner of the 2017 People's Choice Award at the NJ State Fair!
Leesa Beckman lives locally in Highland Lakes, New Jersey along with her pet goose Oliver who is local celebrity of children’s books. And during this Farmers Market, you can personally meet Oliver the inspiration behind the books!
Oliver inspired books about his adventures:
“You Can’t Potty Train a GOOSE!” is a silly story about a gosling that lives indoors and needs to be potty trained before he destroys the house! Things don’t go as planned and there must be a solution… quick!
“A Million Monarchs Munching Milkweed and a Goose!” is a learning book about the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly and Oliver’s chaotic adventures trying to watch over a million caterpillars.
“Oliver’s Search for Miss Matilda and her Mucky Mud Puddle,” is a book about Oliver’s travels along the Appalachian Trail, Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge, Maple Grange Road, and Mastodon Lake, in search of Miss Matilda the Mastodon.
They will also be selling Monarch Caterpillar & Chrysalis kits! Hatch your own butterfly!
So, stop by this weekend’s Farmers Market to meet both Leesa Beckman and her pet goose, Oliver!
